Northern-Sòng official and correspondent of 司馬光 Sīmǎ Guāng. The principal surviving document of his correspondence is Sīmǎ Guāng’s Dá Hán Bǐngguó shū 答韓秉國書 (Letter in Reply to Hán Bǐngguó), preserved in the Chuán jiā jí 傳家集 — the locus classicus of Sīmǎ Guāng’s programmatic rejection of 王弼 Wáng Bì’s Lǎo-Zhuāng metaphysical reading of the Yì.
