Kenchi 顯智 (1226–1310), Kantō Shinshū scholar of the Takada 高田 lineage, third abbot of the Senju-ji 専修寺 (the head temple of the Takada branch, in Mie). Pupil of Shinbutsu 真佛, who was himself a senior disciple of 親鸞 Shinran in the Kantō provinces. Kenchi is the most learned figure of the early Takada-ha and the principal scholastic systematizer of the Shinran doctrinal tradition outside the Hongan-ji line. His chief surviving work is the Daimyōmoku KR6t0382, a doctrinal-lexical handbook of the Pure Land schools. He was a contemporary and rival of 覺如 Kakunyo (1270–1351), and the Takada-ha–Hongan-ji split begins with their respective generations. The DILA authority id is A001242.
