Gāo Shūlián 高淑濂 (fl. late 19th – early 20th c.), Tàiān 泰安 (Shāndōng) physician. Father of Gāo Zōngyuè 高宗岳 (the work’s editor and printer), and trained him in medicine in 1908 (Guāngxù wùshēn) after the son’s labour-pains caused him to abandon physical labour for medical study. Gāo Shūlián’s Tāichǎn fāngàn 胎產方案 (KR3ei067) was the family’s principal obstetrical manuscript. Originally titled Tāichǎn mìshū 胎產秘書, the work was renamed Fāngàn (Prescriptional Cases) in 1934 and printed by his son’s Yī Dài shānfáng 依岱山房 in Tàiān. The author specialised in the obstetrics-and-gynaecology branch of clinical practice for over thirty years; the work distils his lifelong clinical experience. Not in CBDB.
