Wèi Tiānyīng 魏天應 (fl. mid-13th c.)

Hào Méishù 梅墅. Native of Mǐn (Fújiàn). Self-styled “xiānggòng jìnshì” (a successful Provincial Examination jǔrén below the jìnshì degree). He is the principal compiler of the Lùnxué shéngchǐ 論學繩尺 KR4h0056 in 10 juǎn — the foundational anthology of lùn (essay) examination-prose models from the late-Southern-Sòng examination system. Working with the annotator Lín Zǐcháng 林子長 (hào Bǐfēng 筆峯, jīngxué jiàoyù), he assembled and classified 156 model essays. Floruit in the late Southern Sòng, probably the Bǎoyòu (1253–1258) to Xiánchún (1265–1274) period. No firm lifedates; no CBDB entry.
