Wèi Xǐ 魏禧
Early-Qīng essayist (1624–1681), zì Bīngshū 冰叔, hào Sháotíng 勺庭, of Níngdū 寧都 (Jiāngxī). One of the Yìtáng sān Wèi 易堂三魏 (Three Wèi of Yìtáng), together with his brothers Wèi Jì 魏際 and Wèi Lǐ 魏禮; an yímín 遺民 (Míng-loyalist holdover) who refused service under the Qīng. His Wèi Sháotíng wénjí 魏勺庭文集 is a major source for early-Qīng intellectual history. Praised the paediatrician 程雲鵬 Chéng Yúnpéng’s clinical reasoning as comparable to 諸葛亮 Zhūgě Liàng’s strategic generalship (Wǔhóu yòngbīng 武侯用兵).
