Lǔ Bósì 魯伯嗣 (sometimes written Lǔ Bósìxué 魯伯嗣學, on the supposition that Bósìxué is a fuller form of the personal name; equally likely the xué is the verb-suffix xué “studied”, indicating *Bósì who studied [medicine]”). Early Míng paediatrician of unknown native place and lifedates, traditionally credited with compilation of the paediatric Yīngtóng bǎiwèn 嬰童百問 (KR3ej006). The 1506 Zhèngdé edition prefaces by Wáng Yúnfèng 王云鳳 and Xiāo Qiānzǐyù 蕭謙子豫 question the secure attribution: both note that no independent evidence (zuǒ yàn 左驗) for Lǔ’s authorship survives, and that material in the work overlaps with the Yīngrú lùn bǎipiān 嬰孺論百篇 traditionally ascribed to Qián Yǐ 錢乙 of the Northern Sòng. Lǔ is plausibly an early-Míng (14th–early 15th c.) compiler-editor working with received Sòng paediatric materials. No CBDB record; no securely datable biographical evidence beyond the Yīngtóng bǎiwèn attribution.
