Huáng Gàn 黃榦 (1152–1221), zì Zhíqīng 直卿, hào Miǎnzhāi 勉齋, native of Mǐnxiàn 閩縣 (modern Fúzhōu, Fújiàn). The principal disciple of Zhū Xī (he was Zhū Xī’s son-in-law, having married Zhū’s eldest daughter), and the most influential single transmitter of the Zhū-school tradition into the late Southern Sòng Dàoxué circle. Held office through Zhī Miányángjūn and Zhī Hànyángjūn; his official career was overshadowed by his role as Zhū Xī’s literary executor and as the central organising figure of the post-Zhū-Xī school in the Qìngyuán dǎngjīn aftermath. His major scholarly work for our purposes is the 15-juan continuation of the Sānglǐ portion of Zhū Xī’s Yílǐ jīngzhuàn tōngjiě KR1d0085 — composed at Zhū Xī’s deathbed instruction and printed by Zhāng Fú at Nánkāng in Jiādìng jǐmǎo (1219). Other works include the Lǐjì tōngjiě and the Yùnlì biāo. Sòng shǐ j. 430. CBDB id 11134 (1152–1221).
