Gōng Xìn 龔信 (zì Ruìzhī 瑞之, hào Xīyuán 西園, mid-Míng), hereditary physician of Jīnxī 金溪 (Fǔzhōu 撫州, Jiāngxī), and father of the much better-known 龔廷賢 Gōng Tíngxián (Yúnlín). Gōng Xìn served at the Imperial Academy of Medicine (Tàiyī yuàn 太醫院) and was the originator of the family clinical doctrine that his son continued. His principal work is the Gǔjīn yījiàn 古今醫鑑 (KR3er037 / KR3er038), completed by him in Wànlì 4 (1576) and brought to print in Wànlì 17 (1589) by his son with substantial editorial expansion; the two-recension survival of the work (eight juǎn chūkān / sixteen juǎn expanded) preserves a rare witness to the father-son textual evolution.
