Gōng Xiào 龔斆 (active 1370s–c. 1390s), native of Yánshān 鉛山 (Jiāngxī), home of the famous Éhú 鵞湖 (Goose Lake) academy. Has no Míng shǐ biography; the Tàizǔ běnjì records his appointment in Hóngwǔ 13 / bāyuè bǐngwǔ (1380) as one of five Sìfǔ guān chūnxiàguān 四輔官春夏官 (the short-lived Four Supporters of the Throne offices, established to replace the abolished Zhōngshūshěng and disestablished in Hóngwǔ 15 / 1382). The Yánshān xiàn zhì preserves the rest of his career: míngjīng teaching at Guǎngxìn; compiled Zhūzǐ shuō 朱子說 and Bǔ Liùjīng tú 補六經圖; recommended by yùshǐ Yè Mèngfāng 葉孟芳; Sìfǔ guān (1380–1382); retired on age; recalled as Guózǐ jìjiǔ 國子祭酒; died in office. Authored Jīngyě lèichāo 經野類鈔 in 28 juǎn (lost) and the surviving Éhú jí 鵞湖集 KR4e0069 in six juǎn, recovered by the Sìkù editors from the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn. The collection’s two prefaces for the 1385 Korea embassy and the 1369–1370 Brunei embassy are documentary discoveries supplementing the Míng shǐ. CBDB returns three Ming homonyms (340387 / 499069 / 558017) without confident dates.
