Shìfǎ 諡法

Code of Posthumous Names

A traditional Chinese reference work on the conventions of posthumous naming (shì), most famously attributed to the Western-Zhōu statesman Zhōugōng or to Shǐ Yì; cited in medieval Sino-Japanese Buddhist exegesis as part of the classical-Chinese lexicographic apparatus used to elucidate doctrinal terminology.
