The work presents the canonical Shānghán lùn with selected and edited annotations drawn from a wide range of SòngQīng commentaries (成無己 Chéng Wúyǐ, 朱肱 Zhū Hóng, 方有執 Fāng Yǒuzhí, 喻昌 Yú Chāng, 柯琴 Kē Qín, 尤怡 Yóu Yí, 吳謙 Wú Qiān’s Yīzōng jīnjiàn, 丹波元簡 Tamba no Mototane, etc.), with Yùn’s own editorial notes situating each tradition within the modern Chinese medical curriculum.
