About the work
A short Yuán-period treatise in one juan continuing the Héjiān-school Shānghán doctrine of 劉完素 Liú Wánsù, by 馬宗素 Mǎ Zōngsù. The work — preserved in the Héjiān liù shū 河間六書 corpus — presents Liú’s fire-and-heat doctrine in a more concise pedagogical form, with selected canonical Shānghán passages glossed through the Héjiān doctrinal lens.
Abstract
The composition window of 1297–1320 brackets the early-mid Yuán activity of the Héjiān school. Mǎ Zōngsù is also the author of the Shānghán qián fǎ 傷寒鈐法 (KR3ef048), a parallel calendar-based prognostic Shānghán treatise. He is known almost exclusively as a Héjiān-school transmitter; his exact biographical details are not preserved.
