Yòukē huìjué zhíjiě 幼科匯訣直解

Direct Explanations of Compiled Paediatric Discussions anonymous Qīng paediatric compilation

About the work

A single-juǎn anonymous Qīng paediatric handbook of the huìjué zhíjiě 匯訣直解 (compiled-and-directly-explained) didactic genre. The catalog meta records no author and no dynasty; internal evidence (genre, didactic style, prescription vocabulary) places the work in the mid-to-late Qīng. The work belongs to the late-Qīng xuéyī 學醫 (medical-study) paediatric tutorial tradition alongside the better-known Yīzōng jīnjiàn paediatric verses (KR3ej029) and 王錫鑫 Wáng Xīxīn’s Yòukē qièyào (KR3ej025).

Abstract

The Yòukē huìjué zhíjiě is a late-Qīng paediatric tutorial in the standard jué + jiě 訣解 format: the inherited paediatric gējué 歌訣 (mnemonic verses) are quoted, then directly explained (zhíjiě 直解) for the xuézhě 學者 (medical student). The work’s source-corpus is the conventional Qīng paediatric verse-tradition descending from 錢乙 Qián Yǐ through the Yīzōng jīnjiàn yòukē. Date bracket: c. 1700 (after the principal Qīng paediatric jué tradition is established) to 1911 (end of Qīng). The work is one of the rarer paediatric tutorials in the catalog; the author is unidentified.
