About the work

A single-juǎn casebook of the mid-Qīng Sūzhōu physician Miù Zūnyì (hào Sōngxīn 松心), organised by syndrome. The text overlaps in clinical signature and patient-source-area with the closely related compilation KR3ep075 Sōngxīn yīàn bǐjì and may represent an independent transcription of overlapping case-material.

Prefaces

No transmitted preface in the hxwd source. The _000.txt opens directly with the first case (喘 — gasping respiration).

Abstract

Miù Zūnyì 繆遵義 (CBDB 91312, 1710–1793), hào Sōngxīn 松心 (also Tiānshū 天樞 in some sources), of Wúxiàn 吳縣 (Sūzhōu, Jiāngsū). A Qiánlóng yǐchǒu (1745) jìnshì; held minor official posts before turning to medicine in middle age. He was a contemporary of Yè Tiānshì in Sūzhōu and is sometimes grouped with the other major Sūzhōu late-Yè-school masters.

The cases proceed through 喘 (gasping respiration), 不寐 (insomnia), and other internal-medicine categories. The prescribing signature — Dàncài / Bāxìng / Kǎnqì / Màidōng / Chuānbèi; Báishā fāng (white-sand formula of Hǎigéké, Bái fúshí, Chántuì, Jìyúdǎn with silver) — is highly distinctive and identifies Miù as a meticulous practitioner of the Sūzhōu Yè-school light-and-precise prescribing style. The opening Chuǎn case explicitly invokes the Nèijīng yángqiáo / bùmèi (yáng-vessel insomnia) doctrine — a textbook display of canonical-doctrinal anchoring of Yè-school clinical practice.

The composition window 1740–1793 reflects Miù’s mature clinical decades through to his death.
