Xú Dùyú xiānshēng yīàn 徐渡漁先生醫案

Medical Case Records of Master Xú Dù-yú by 徐渡漁 Xú Dùyú (late Qīng).

About the work

A single-juǎn late-Qīng casebook of the physician Xú Dùyú 徐渡漁, preserved without preface or biographical apparatus in the hxwd source. The case-material is organised by syndrome, opening with 溫 (warmth) and proceeding through 濕溫 (damp-warmth) and other wēnbìng categories.

Prefaces

No transmitted preface in the hxwd source. The _000.txt opens directly with the first case (溫 — 溫邪身熱熱不揚一候矣).

Abstract

Xú Dùyú 徐渡漁’s biographical record is unrecovered from the surviving text. The clinical signature — light-cleansing xīnliáng (薄桑葉, 大豆卷, 川貝, 連翹, 杏仁霜) with consistent attention to shīwēn (damp-warmth) syndrome categorisation, deployment of Báidòu kòu (Cardamom), Pípáyè (Loquat-leaf), Yúnfúlíng, and Chuāntōngcǎo — places the work in the late-Qīng 王孟英 Wáng Mèngyīng-school wēnbìng tradition.

The opening cases address wēnxié shēnrè (warm-pathogen body-heat) in an elderly patient, followed by composite wēnxié jiā shī (warm-pathogen plus damp) with chest-fullness and exterior-heat-with-cough. The successive shīwēn cases (濕溫發熱四日有汗不解; 濕溫病一候之前惟宜解達; 濕溫五日陽明表裡兼阻) display a textbook clinical-staging methodology, treating the qīrì hòu (seven-day-rhythm) progression with characteristic light-aromatic prescribing.

The composition window 1850–1911 brackets a likely late-Qīng clinical career. The author signature xiānshēng (Master / Mister) of the title indicates posthumous compilation by disciples or family.
