About the work

A three-juan Northern-Sòng collected-commentaries edition of the [[KR5a0031|Huángdì yīnfú jīng]] compiled by Cáo Xīyùn 曹希蘊 (fl. eleventh century), the notable Sòng poetess-and-Daoist. The text presents the short version of the scripture (c. 300 words) in three paragraphs. Under the Dàozàng jíyào title Shízhēn jíjiě 十真集解 (“Collected Explanations by the Ten Perfected”) it presents commentary-strata attributed to ten Daoist authorities.

Florian C. Reiter, in Schipper & Verellen eds., The Taoist Canon (2004) 2:694 (§3.A.1), dates the compilation to Cáo Xīyùn’s Northern-Sòng floruit. The frontmatter brackets composition notBefore 1000 / notAfter 1100, with dynasty 北宋. Cáo Xīyùn is the sole catalog-meta person wikilinked.
