Jīnlù shíhuí dùrén wǎncháo zhuǎnjīng yí 金籙十迴度人晚朝轉經儀
Late-Audience Scripture-Recitation Liturgy for the Ten-Cycle Salvation of Humanity in the Golden-Register Fast
About the work
Third and concluding member of the zhuǎnjīng triad in 三儀同卷軆十. The evening recitation covers the final two huí (9 and 10) of the ten-cycle schema, complementing KR5b0188 in the kāishōu frame.
Abstract
The evening zhuǎnjīng effects the climactic recitation of huí 9 and 10 of the Dùrén jīng — the two huí in the cosmological schema that complete the encirclement of all ten cosmic regions and culminate in the universal deliverance of all beings. The evening rite of the zhuǎnjīng set is thus also the structural high point of the entire Jīnlù day, since the central salvific work of the ten-cycle recitation is brought to a close here. The closing dedication takes the cumulative merit of all ten recitations through the day and directs it toward the imperial longevity (祝延 萬壽), the qīzǔ 七祖 of all participants, the deliverance of the dead in the dark regions, and the universal salvation of all sentient beings. Schipper & Verellen (Taoist Canon 2: 996–997, John Lagerwey) emphasise the convergence of imperial-protective and universal-salvific dedication that this finale enacts.
