Zhōu yì cān tóng qì kǎo yì 周易參同契考異 — “Recension III”
Textual Criticism of the Zhōu yì cān tóng qì
by 朱熹 (Zhū Xī, 1130–1200) — under the pseudonym Zōu Xīn 鄒訢
Zhū Xī’s philological study of the Cān tóng qì, the third of the three Dào zàng recensions. Originally titled Zhōu yì cān tóng qì kǎo yì 周易參同契考異 (“Textual Variants”), Zhū published it pseudonymously as “Kōng tóng Dàoshì Zōu Xīn” 空同道士鄒訢 in 1197, signaling scholarly distance from open Confucian engagement with a Daoist alchemical classic. Zhū’s edition has been enormously influential in the philological reception of the Cān tóng qì. Preserved as DZ 1001 / CT 1001 (Tài xuán bù 太玄部).
Dating. 1197. Dynasty: 南宋.
