Kàng cāng zǐ 亢倉子
Master Kàngcāng
composed by 王士源 (Wáng Shìyuán, 742); pseudepigraphically attributed to 庚桑楚 (Gēngsāng Chǔ)
A Táng pseudepigraphon attributed to the Warring-States figure Gēngsāng Chǔ 庚桑楚 (a disciple of Lǎo dān mentioned in the Zhuāng zǐ). Actually composed by Wáng Shìyuán 王士源 in 742 (Tiān bǎo 1), who acknowledges the fabrication in his preface. The text plays a double role in the Táng canon: it was one of the four apocryphal Daoist classics promoted by Táng Xuán zōng and studied for the dào jǔ 道舉 Daoist examinations. Catalogued in the Kanripo as a separate text from the matching Dào zàng entry KR5c0050. Not preserved in the Kanseki mirror source tree (catalog entry only).
Dating. 742. Dynasty: 唐.
