The foundational clinical medical encyclopedia of the Táng, composed by the great physician 孫思邈 Sūn Sīmiǎo c. 650, revised by Sòng editors in the 11th century (the Dào zàng copy follows the Sòng recension in 93 juàn). Covers diagnostics, obstetrics-pediatrics, internal medicine, acupuncture, materia medica, and emergency treatment. “Thousand-gold” in the title reflects Sūn’s dictum that human life is worth more than a thousand gold pieces. Preserved as DZ 1163 / CT 1163 (Tài píng bù 太平部).
