Hé guān zǐ 鶡冠子

Master Pheasant-Cap

commentary by 陸佃 (Lù Diàn, 1042–1102)

The Hé guān zǐ is a late-Warring-States / early-Hàn HuángLǎo syncretic philosophical-strategic text, traditionally associated with an anonymous recluse of Chǔ. Long considered a forgery, its authenticity was reaffirmed by the Mǎ wáng duī 馬王堆 discoveries. The received text in the Dào zàng is accompanied by Lù Diàn’s 陸佃 Northern-Sòng commentary. Preserved as DZ 1175 / CT 1175 (Tài qīng bù 太清部).
