Jiǔ huáng dòu mǔ jiè shā yán shēng zhēn jīng 九皇斗姥戒殺延生真經

True Scripture of the Nine August Ones and the Mother of the Dipper, on the Forbidding of Killing and the Extending of Life

Anonymous Qīng planchette scripture; Dòu-mǔ-cult liturgical text

A devotional-liturgical scripture on the Dòu mǔ (“Mother of the Dipper”, = Mārīcī Daoised; cf. KR5i0023) and the Nine August Ones (九皇 — the nine stars of the Northern Dipper deified), centred on a moral imperative against the killing of life. The text opens with the standard preliminary purification spells (淨咒八則 — eight purifications: 淨天地, 淨八方, 淨壇, 淨身, 淨心, 淨口, 淨意, 淨業), each in 4-character pentastichs of liturgical verse, before proceeding to the scripture proper.

Prefaces

No external preface; the text is a self-contained liturgical scripture without authorial signature.

Abstract

A Qīng planchette-revealed scripture in the Dòumǔ / Nine-August cult, presenting an anti-slaughter doctrine 戒殺 in liturgical-recitation form. The opening jìng zhòu sequence is the standard front-matter for Daoist scripture-recitation; the substantive scripture combines a discourse on the Dòu mǔ’s universal compassion with a directive on the karmic consequences of killing animals (the inherited kalpa-cycle of jié 劫 calamities, coordinated with the catalogue at KR5i0004).

The work belongs to the same DZJY Lóngmén planchette milieu as KR5i0023 and is often bound with it as a paired Dòumǔ liturgy.
