Yōubēyí Duòshèjiā jīng 優陂夷墮舍迦經
Sūtra of the Lay-Sister Visākhā (the Uposatha-sūtra; parallel to Madhyama-āgama sūtra 202, to Zhāi jīng 齋經 (KR6a0087) / Bāguānzhāi jīng 八關齋經 (KR6a0089)) Anonymous (失譯), conventionally attached to the [Liú-]Sòng 劉宋 catalogue
About the work
The Yōubēyí Duòshèjiā jīng is a single-fascicle anonymous Chinese translation of the Uposatha-sūtra — addressed to the great laywoman Visākhā 墮舍迦 (with the lay-sister title 優陂夷 upāsikā / upāsi-yi). The discourse is a parallel of T87 and T89, all rendering the same canonical Uposatha discourse.
Prefaces
The text bears no preface or postface. The only paratext is the catalogue rubric printed at the head: 「失譯人名今附宋錄」.
Abstract
The LiúSòng (420–479) ascription is a catalog-tradition assignment. The defensible bracket for the Chinese version is therefore 420–479 CE, recorded in the frontmatter. The Indic source is presumed lost.
