About the work
A single-fascicle Liú-Sòng translation by Huìjiǎn of a discourse about a householder’s son who renounced and returned to lay life six times before finally settling in the saṅgha. The Chinese parallel is T125[35.10].
Prefaces
The text bears no preface or postface. The only paratext is the LiúSòng translator’s signature at the head: 「宋沙門釋慧簡譯」.
Abstract
T137 was produced by Huìjiǎn at the Lùyěsì in 457 CE (cf. KR6a0043); the date is recorded in the frontmatter. The Indic source is presumed lost.
