Huìjiǎn 慧簡 (also written 惠簡; DILA Authority A001205) was a Liú-Sòng 劉宋 monk active at the Lùyě-sì 鹿野寺 (“Deer Park Monastery”) at Mòlíng 秣陵 (= Jiànkāng 建康, the southern capital). Biographical information is very sparse: the Lìdài sānbǎo jì 歷代三寶紀 (T2034) records that in Dàmíng 大明 1 (457 CE), under Sòng Xiào-Wǔ-dì 孝武帝, he produced an abridged version of the Guàndǐng jīng 灌頂經 (the Abhiṣeka-sūtra, T1331) at the Lùyě-sì. He is also credited with the [[KR6a0043|Yánluó-wáng wǔ tiānshǐzhě jīng 閻羅王五天使者經]] (T43, the Devadūta-sūtra) and several other short Āgama extractions and apocryphal compositions. The DILA authority bracket for his lifetime is c. 407–507, with the only secure date being his Dàmíng 1 (457) translation activity. His native place, lay surname and other biographical details are unrecorded.
