About the work
A single-juan Northern-Sòng auxiliary liturgical apparatus by Zūnshì 遵式 (964–1032) — the Tiāntái-Pure Land synthesis master of Háng-zhōu Tiānzhú-sì and the most prolific compiler of repentance liturgies in Sòng Buddhism — for the Jīn-guāng-míng (Suvarṇaprabhāsa-sūtra) repentance practice. Abstract
Zūnshì’s Bǔ-zhù yí belongs to his comprehensive late-Northern-Sòng liturgical apparatus, alongside his other major repentance compilations (the Wǎngshēng jìng-tǔ chàn-yuàn yí 往生淨土懺願儀 T1984 and the Pǔ-mén pǐn chóng-sòng KR6d0056). Through Zūnshì’s productive activity, the Jīn-guāng-míng (Suvarṇaprabhāsa) devotional cult became one of the standard institutional liturgies of Sòng Tiāntái-Pure Land devotional practice.
