About the work
A seven-juan Northern-Sòng compilation by Fúzōng Jìzhōng 扶宗繼忠 (1012–1082) documenting the doctrinal differences between Sìmíng Zhīlǐ 四明知禮 (the shānjiā tradition founder, 知禮) and Rényuè 仁岳 (the principal shānwài spokesperson, 仁岳). The work is the most extensive single documentary record of the shānjiā / shānwài polemical exchange.
Abstract
The composition is bracketed within Jìzhōng’s productive period c. 1040–1082.
