About the work
This 1-fascicle text by 淨源 Jìngyuán is the Northern Sòng Huáyán-school’s ritual manual for cultivating and verifying the Pǔxián xíngyuàn — the Practice-Vow of Samantabhadra, the foundational devotional text of the Avataṃsaka tradition (cf. [[KR6e0041|the 40-fascicle Sì shí Huáyán]]). The xiūzhèng yí “cultivation-verification ritual” provides the liturgical framework for the practitioner’s vow-cultivation, integrating recitation of the Pǔxián xíngyuàn pǐn with contemplative-doctrinal instruction.

Abstract
The bracket adopted here (1067 – 1088) reflects 淨源 Jìngyuán’s mature editorial activity at the Huìyīnsì in Hángzhōu. The work is part of his comprehensive Huáyán-school revival project; alongside the ShūChāo editorial work and the Huán yuán guān materials, the present ritual manual provided the practical-devotional framework for Sòng Huáyán monastic practice.
The work is preserved in the Manji Xù zàng jīng (X1472) collection.
