About the work
This 1-fascicle text — the first of two parallel Taishō recensions (T0315a and T0315b) — is 竺法護 Zhú Fǎhù’s translation of the Pǔ mén pǐn jīng (a chapter on the Universal Gate doctrine, a bodhisattva-path text). The text was incorporated into the [[KR6f0001|Mahā-ratnakūṭa]] as assembly 10 (Wénshūshīlì pǔ mén huì 文殊師利普門會).

Abstract
The translation is conventionally datable to 竺法護 Zhú Fǎhù’s translation activity at Cháng’ān, c. 266 – 313 CE. The bracket adopted here reflects this window. The Taishō prints two recensions of the same translation as T0315a and T0315b; the a recension corresponds to the Korean Tripiṭaka Koreana witness, while T0315b is from another transmission line. The two preserve substantially the same translation in slightly different states.
The Taishō text (T0315a) is established on the Korean Tripiṭaka Koreana witness.
