This 36-fascicle composite work combines 灌頂 Guàndǐng’s Dà bān niè pán jīng shū 大般涅槃經疏 (KR6g0007) with 湛然 Zhànrán’s Táng-period editorial revision (zài zhì 再治) and the Japanese editorial fēn huì of 本純 Honjun. The 36-fascicle scope matches the Southern Recension of the parent sūtra (KR6g0003) and provides line-by-line interlinear commentary.
Abstract
The bracket adopted here (597–1700) reflects the maximum window from Guàndǐng’s mature period to the Edo-Japanese editorial work.
