This 9-fascicle Táng Tiāntái-school sub-commentary on 灌頂 Guàndǐng’s Dà bān niè pán jīng shū 大般涅槃經疏 (KR6g0007) is by 道暹 Dàoxiān, paralleling Xíngmǎn’s parallel Sī jì (KR6g0017, X660). Together the two works document the mid-Táng Tiāntái-school Nièpán commentarial tradition.
Abstract
The bracket adopted here (766–800) reflects Dàoxiān’s mid-Táng activity per the Sòng gāosēng zhuàn.
