Cíbēi dìzàng púsà chànfǎ 慈悲地藏菩薩懺法
The Compassionate Repentance Liturgy of the Bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha anonymous compiler (Qīng dynasty)
About the work
The Cíbēi dìzàng púsà chànfǎ in 3 fascicles is a Qīng-period 地藏 Kṣitigarbha repentance liturgy (chànfǎ 懺法) of unknown compilation. The Xuzangjing print does not record the compiler’s name; the work is preserved without front-matter and is signed only with chapter headings (“Yán jìng tánchǎng” 嚴淨壇場, “Cíbēi dìzàng chànfǎ juàn shàng / xià” etc.). The catalog meta accordingly assigns the work to the Qīng dynasty without an author. The text complements [[KR6h0020|the Zànlǐ dìzàng púsà chànyuàn yí]] of 智旭 and the Cíbēi dàochǎng chànfǎ 慈悲道場懺法 (the great Liáng Liánghuáng bǎochàn 梁皇寶懺 tradition); within that tradition it is one of the principal Kṣitigarbha repentance liturgies in the late-imperial Chinese Buddhist tradition.

Abstract
The text is an extended liturgical compilation in three fascicles. Fascicle 1 opens with the Yánjìng tánchǎng 嚴淨壇場 “Purification of the Ritual Space” (employing the Willow-and-Pure-Water gāthā and the homage to Qīngliángdì bodhisattva 清涼地菩薩); the body of the liturgy proceeds through cycles of prostration to the buddhas, recitation of the Mahākaruṇā-dhāraṇī and the Heart Sūtra, repentance formulas, and praise verses. Fascicle 3 concludes with a comprehensive vow-cycle (fāyuàn 發願) committing the practitioner to bodhisattva-rebirth in successive lifetimes, with petitionary prayers for the welfare of the imperial state, the saṅgha, and the eight classes of dharma-protectors (Tiānlóng bābù 天龍八部). The liturgy is structurally and stylistically continuous with the broader Tiāntái-derived chànfǎ tradition formalised in the late Míng and continued through the Qīng.
The dating window 1644–1911 is given with deliberate looseness, corresponding to the Qīng dynasty as a whole; the specific date of compilation cannot be determined from the surviving text.
