About the work

The Lè yīngluò zhuāngyán fāngbiàn pǐn jīng (T566) is a one-fascicle alternate translation of the Strīvivartavyākaraṇa-sūtra (cf. KR6i0197). The translator, Tánmóyéshè 曇摩耶舍 (曇摩耶舍; Dharmayaśas), was active under the Yáo Qín alongside Kumārajīva.

Abstract

A short Mahāyāna text on a woman’s vyākaraṇa through skillful means. Tánmóyéshè was a Kashmiri monk who arrived at Cháng’ān around 405 CE; his translation activity is dated 405–413 CE, contemporaneous with Kumārajīva.
