X327 in one fascicle is 德清’s short bǔyí 補遺 (“supplement”) to his major commentary [[KR6i0343|Guān Léngqié jīng jì]] (X326). The genre signals an addendum: passages, glosses, or doctrinal observations that Hānshān had developed after the main commentary’s completion and that he wished to preserve as a coda rather than to retro-fit into the body of X326.
Abstract
Date bracket follows Hānshān’s late productive period (post-1606 partial rehabilitation, pre-death 1623), and is presumably very late in that bracket since the bǔyí presupposes the completion of X326. The work is a coda to X326 and should be read with that commentary; it is one of the smaller pieces in the Hānshān corpus but is a useful witness to the maturation of his Laṅkāvatāra exegesis in the years immediately preceding his death.
