Āzhābóhǒu fùzhǔ zhòu 阿吒薄𤘽付囑呪
Entrustment-Mantra of Āṭavaka by anonymous compiler
About the work
A very short anonymous Esoteric mantra-text appended to the Āṭavaka cluster (KR6j0465–KR6j0468) of the Taishō. The catalog meta records no translator and no dynasty; canwww (T21N1240) likewise records no responsible-statement. The title denotes a fùzhǔzhòu 付囑呪 — a “mantra of entrustment” — i.e., the mantra by which the deity is committed to the Buddha’s charge to protect the Dharma and its practitioners.
Abstract
The text gives the entrustment-mantra of Āṭavaka in its raw form — the dhāraṇī-syllables, in transliterated Sanskrit, with brief instructions on its use. It functions as a portable practitioner’s appendix to the longer Āṭavaka materials, especially Śubhakarasiṃha’s three-fascicle KR6j0467 (T1239). The dating bracket is conservative.
