A one-fascicle Esoteric dhāraṇī-sūtra on Mārīcī by Amoghavajra (不空); the second of the Mārīcī cluster (KR6j0483–KR6j0489, T1254–T1259) and the first of the two parallel renderings preserved as T1255a/b. Korean Tripiṭaka K1354; Nanjio 0846. Alternate title 摩利支天經.
Abstract
A more compact rendering of the Mārīcī-dhāraṇī material than the full Huāmán sūtra of KR6j0483 (T1254): the framing-narrative is shorter, the iconographic exposition compressed, and the focus is on the dhāraṇī itself together with its essential ritual conditions. The text is thus the practitioner’s-handbook counterpart of T1254. Date: Amoghavajra’s Chángān activity, 746–774.
