A one-fascicle (1卷) structural-outline (kē 科) accompanying Língyào Quánzhāng 靈耀全彰 靈耀’s ten-fascicle Lèngyán jīng guānxīn dìngjiě 楞嚴經觀心定解 (KR6j0714). The author identifies himself as Tiāntái bǐqiū Língyào Quánzhāng shù 天台比丘靈耀全彰述 (“composed by the Tiāntái-school monk Língyào Quánzhāng”). Preserved as X15 no. 304 in the Xùzàngjīng.
Abstract
The Kē is the conventional Sūtra-outline paratext that accompanies a major Chinese Buddhist commentary: it lays out, in deeply nested headings, the structural division of the Śūraṃgama into xù 序 / zhèngzōng 正宗 / liútōng 流通 sections, with each scene and doctrinal step assigned to its place under a hierarchical numbered scheme. The outline is to be read alongside the Dìngjiě proper as its navigational apparatus and as the visible expression of the Tiāntái-school fēnkē 分科 method. Composition window: 1680 (the date of the Dìngjiě dàgāng preface) – early Kāngxī period.
