The Jùshě Lùn Sòng Shū 俱舍論頌疏 (CBETA X53n842) is an anonymous (闕名 quē míng, “author name wanting”) 2-juan text preserved in the Xuzangjing Vol. 53, No. 842. The catalog function is 補作 (supplementary composition). The surviving files correspond to juan 29–30 of the text, covering the 破我品 (refutation of the personal-self doctrine), suggesting the original work was substantially longer and that only the final two juan survive. No dynasty is listed in the catalog; on internal grounds a Tang date is probable given the text’s position in the X53 Kōsha commentary sequence.
Prefaces
No preface is preserved in the surviving juan. The surviving text (juan 29–30) opens directly with commentary on 破我品, dealing with the Vātsīputrīya, Sāṃkhya, and Vaiśeṣika doctrines of the self.
Abstract
This anonymous text belongs to the tradition of commentaries on 圓暉’s Sòng Shū (KR6l0036). Its placement in the Xuzangjing immediately after 遁麟’s Sòng Shū jì (KR6l0041, X53n841) and in the same catalog sequence (X53n836–843) as the other 圓暉-tradition texts suggests it is a supplementary or alternative commentary on 圓暉’s verse-exposition. The 補作 designation in the catalog may indicate it was composed to fill gaps in another commentary. Its authorship and date remain unknown.
