A two-fascicle Sòng-dynasty sub-commentary by 普觀 on 法藏’s KR6n0091 Dàshèng fǎjiè wú chābié lùn shū (T44n1838) — the Tang Hua-yan-school commentary on Sāramati’s Dharmadhātu-aviśeṣa-śāstra (KR6n0089). The companion kē (topical outline) is KR6n0092 (X46n0786). Pǔguān’s pair of works is one of the principal Sòng-period engagements with the Tathāgatagarbha treatises in Chinese Buddhist scholarship.

Abstract
The Sòng dynasty saw a partial revival of Hua-yan-school doctrinal scholarship after the late-Tang persecutions and the dispersal of the Tang Hua-yan-school institutional base. Pǔguān’s sub-commentary belongs to this revival: it engages with 法藏’s text not merely as historical doctrine but as living philosophical resource, applying Sòng-period scholastic methods (the kē + chāo paired format) to the Dharmadhātu-aviśeṣa tradition. The work is one of the few Sòng-dynasty sub-commentaries on the Tathāgatagarbha treatises (most Sòng Buddhist scholastic energy went into the Tian-tai and Chán traditions), and is a valuable witness to the continued Hua-yan-school doctrinal interest in the post-Tang period.
The dating window adopted (1100–1180) follows the conventional floruit for Pǔguān; specific composition dates are not preserved in the colophon. Pǔguān’s other principal surviving work is the KR6i0368 Lánpén jīng shū huìgǔ tōngjīn jì 蘭盆經疏會古通今記, also a sub-commentary in the kē + jì format.
