Yěyún Yìng chánshī zōng tǒng sòng 野雲映禪師宗統頌

Lineage-Genealogy Verses of Chán Master Yěyún Yìng

A one-juan Qīng Chán-lineage verse-commentary by Yěyún Dēngyìng 野雲燈映, providing verse-responses (sòng 頌) to the transmission-encounters of each patriarch in the classical Línjì lineage descending from Nányuè Huáiràng. Compiled by his dharma-heir Xìngcǎn 性燦.

About the work

A one-juan lineage-genealogical verse-commentary, J40 B484. Non-commentary on a single parent text; commentedTextid omitted.

The text follows the zōng tǒng sòng 宗統頌 genre pattern: for each classical Línjì patriarch from Nányuè Huáiràng (the first post-Huìnéng generation) onward, the text quotes the standard transmission-exchange from the lamp-records and appends Yěyún’s responding verse-commentary. The approach parallels Mùyún Tōngmén’s Zōng běn tóu jī sòng KR6q0213 but at more modest scale.
