Abstract
Per DILA A003948 and the xù tradition: Kěxiāng (hào Juéàn 絕岸, also Xuěfēng Xiāng 雪峯湘), surname Gě 葛, native of Nínghǎi 寧海 in Táizhōu. He received decisive dharma-transmission from Wújùn Shīfàn at Jìngshān and subsequently held the eight abbacies listed above, his tenure at Xuěfēng Chóngshèng in Fúzhōu being the longest and the one that gave him the alternate style Xuěfēng Xiāng. After a decade at Xuěfēng he retired to Bǎoshòusì at Hángzhōu, dying in Zhìyuán 27 (1290). His dharma-heirs included Yúnsǒu Cóng 雲叟從 and Duànyá Miàoēn 斷崖妙恩 — the latter, abbot of Quánzhōu Kāiyuánsì and himself posthumously honored as “Guǎngmíng Tōnghuì Pǔjì chánshī” 廣明通慧普濟禪師, being the principal compiler of this yǔlù. The yǔlù was therefore compiled posthumously, c. 1290–1300, at Quánzhōu.

No substantial secondary literature located in English. Kě-xiāng is treated in passing in Japanese surveys of Sòng-Yuán Línjì (Ishii Shūdō), and in Chinese studies of the Fújiàn Chán tradition around Xuě-fēng.
