Chéngjiè 乘戒

A late-Qīng monk, dharma-name pair Chéng-jiè / Dìng-huì 乘戒/定慧 (“vehicle-and-precepts / samādhi-and-prajñā”), self-designated Hǎi-yǒng Xiǎo Bái-huā Hǎi-àn shān-rén 海湧小白花海岸山人 (“Mountain-Wayfarer of the Sea-Surge Little White-Flower Coast”). The studio-name plausibly indicates a coastal-Zhèjiāng or Pǔ-tuó-shān 普陀山 association — Bái-huā 白花 (“White-Flower”) being a standard literary periphrasis for Pǔ-tuó-shān (the bodhisattva-Avalokiteśvara island). Author of the 《唯心集》 Wéi-xīn jí KR6p0126 (X1208), a short Pure Land devotional anthology in the chán-jìng shuāng-xiū 禪淨雙修 (Chán-Pure Land integration) tradition. Lifedates not preserved.
