Yuánzhào 圓照
Southern-Sòng Chán attendant-disciple (shìzhě 侍者) of 慧性 Wúmíng Huìxìng (1162–1237); co-editor of his master’s yǔlù (KR6q0312). DILA lists several homonymous Táng, Sòng, Qīng, and Míng monks under 圓照; no distinct authority entry matches this 侍者 unambiguously.

Yuánzhào 圓照
Southern-Sòng Chán cānxué bǐqiū 參學比丘 (student-disciple) of 祖先 Pòān Zǔxiān (1136–1211); principal named editor (“and others”) of his master’s yǔlù (KR6q0314), compiled c. 1212. Lifedates unrecorded. Whether the same person as the Yuánzhào attendant of Wúmíng Huìxìng (see above) cannot be confirmed.

Yuánzhào 圓照 (Tang canonical bibliographer)
Late-Tang Buddhist canonical bibliographer of Xī-míng-sì 西明寺 in Cháng-ān. Lay surname not preserved; lifedates approximately ca. 720s–800s (active mid-late 8th c.). Held the senior monastic-administrative position of lín-tán shā-mén 臨壇沙門 (“ordination-platform-master śramaṇa”) at Xī-míng-sì.
He was the principal post-Zhì-shēng canonical bibliographer of the Tang, responsible for two complementary canonical-bibliographic works that together constituted the standard late-Tang canonical bibliographic apparatus:
- DàTáng Zhēnyuán xù Kāiyuán shìjiào lù 大唐貞元續開元釋教錄 (KR6s0096, T2156, 3 juan, 794 CE) — focused continuation supplement to Zhìshēng’s Kāiyuánlù covering the 343-juan post-730 translation output.
- Zhēnyuán xīndìng shìjiào mùlù 貞元新定釋教目錄 (KR6s0097, T2157, 30 juan, 800 CE) — comprehensive canonical-bibliographic restatement combining the Kāiyuánlù with the post-730 supplement into a unified standard late-Tang catalog.
His canonical-bibliographic project documented and codified the post-Zhì-shēng late-Tang Buddhist canonical expansion — particularly the substantial Esoteric translation output of the late-8th century under Bù-kōng 不空 (705–774), Prajñā 般若 (734–810?), and other late-Tang translation-figures. The expanded canonical roster (~5,390 juan vs Zhì-shēng’s 5,048-juan original) became one of the principal canonical-bibliographic foundations of the early-Sòng Kāi-bǎo canon-printing project (971–983).
