Sòng Wú 宋無 (1260–1340), Zǐxū 子虛, native of Sūzhōu 蘇州. By family origin from Jìnlíng 晉陵 (Chángzhōu); the family fled in wartime to Wú and used the Zhū 朱 surname; he originally used the personal name Xīyán 晞顏 (whence the ambiguity with the Yuán painter Zhū Xīyán 朱晞顏 朱晞顏 of separate identity — see his own notes). Recommended for Màocái 茂材 office by Wáng zhōngchéng of Xīxī 西溪 王中丞, he declined; remained a literatus-recluse. Friend and poetic disciple of Zhào Mèngfǔ 趙孟頫, who wrote a Yuánzhēn yǐwèi (1295) preface to his earliest verse; later Féng Zǐzhèn 馮子振 wrote the Yányòu gēngshēn (1320) preface to the Cuìhán jí KR4d0498, Sòng’s mature self-edited recension. His poetry is in the Late-Táng manner of Lǐ Hè 李賀 and Wēn Tíngyún 溫庭筠; the Sìkù tíyào praises his wǔlǜ and wǔchánglǜ especially.
