Bǎoguì 寶貴 (DILA Authority A001927; Suí period, fl. 597) was a śramaṇa of the Dà-xīngshàn-sì 大興善寺 in Cháng’ān during the reign of the founding Sui emperor Wén-dì 文帝. The DILA authority record cross-references his entry in Dàoxuān’s Xù gāosēng zhuàn 續高僧傳 (T2060) under the biography of 道安 (the early Sui Dào’ān, distinct from the famous fourth-century master), where 寶貴 is identified as a disciple of that Dào’ān. He is remembered for a single editorial undertaking of major significance: the Hé-bù Jīn-guāngmíng jīng 合部金光明經 in eight fascicles (KR6i0302, T664), which he assembled in Kāihuáng 開皇 17 (597) by inserting four chapters from the supplementary translations of Paramārtha and Yaśogupta into 曇無讖’s shorter Northern Liáng version. The composite recension circulated alongside Dharmakṣema’s text until it was finally superseded by 義淨’s long translation of 703.
