Mid-Yuán Xuānchéng literatus. Zhòngyú 仲愚; native of Níngguó 寧國 (Xuānchéng region, southern Anhuī). Twice recommended in the Yányòu (1314–1320) and Tiānlì (1328–1330) xiāngjǔ (provincial recommendations) but apparently did not pass the central examinations. Close friend of 汪澤民; the two co-compiled the local poetry anthology KR4h0080 Wǎnlíng qúnyīng jí 宛陵羣英集, completed and printed in 1341. He authored the second of the two prefaces of that work (also dated zhèngyuè bǐngzǐ of Zhìzhèng xīnsì). The Jiāngnán tōngzhì attributes a Méi Yáochén niánpǔ to him, but the SKQS editors note this is in fact the work of his younger brother Zhāng Shīzēng 張師曾.
