Zhāng Tíngyù 張廷玉 (1672–1755), Héngchén 衡臣, hào Yànzhāi 砚齋, posthumously Wénhé 文和, was the leading Yōngzhèng-court official and one of the most important Hàn officials of the early Qīng. Son of Zhāng Yīng 張英 (KR3a0105 supervisor); native of Tóngchéng 桐城 (An-huī). Jìnshì of Kāngxī 39 (1700); rose to Bǎohédiàn dàxuéshì. Compiler-in-chief of the imperial Míng shǐ 明史 (1739). Co-supervised many YōngzhèngQiánlóng imperial compilations including the Qīn dìng shòu shí tōng kǎo (KR3d0010). The only Hàn official ever entered into the imperial Tàimiào (with the explicit grant from Yōngzhèng’s posthumous edict). Biography: Qīng shǐ gǎo j. 288. CBDB id 56675, dates 1672–1755.
