Mid-Northern-Sòng official and mùfǔ secretary, zì Jǐshèng 幾聖, of Qiántáng 錢塘 (Hángzhōu). Jìnshì of Qìnglì 6 / 1046. Held Sìyuàn pànguān (his first office), zhīxiàn of Pǔjiāng, Dōngyáng, Yuánchéng; Jīngcáo; finally Sānsī Hùbù pànguān and Shàngshū Cíbù lángzhōng (whence the title of his collection). Long service in Hán Qí’s 韓琦 mùfǔ (Shǎnxī, then Běijīng / Dàmíngfǔ); the principal drafter of Hán’s late memorials, including the celebrated 1069 Lùn Qīngmiáo memorial against Wáng Ānshí’s “green-sprouts” loan policy — recognized by Shénzōng on internal reading as Qiáng’s hand. Compiler of the Hán Zhōngxiàn yíshì 韓忠獻遺事, the principal anecdotal source for Hán Qí’s career.
