Huìyǐng 慧影 (lifedates unknown; fl. late Northern-and-Southern Dynasties / Suí, c. sixth century), Chinese Buddhist commentator known principally as the compiler of [[KR6c0006|Dàzhìdù lùn shū 大智度論疏 (X791)]] — the surviving partial commentary on Kumārajīva’s [[KR6c0005|Dàzhìdù lùn (T1509)]]. The catalog meta entry uses the form “慧影抄” — “Hui-Ying compiled” — combining his name with the verb 抄 (“compiled / excerpted”); the work is therefore an editorial-compiled commentary in chāo form, drawing on existing exegesis. The dating to the late Northern-and-Southern Dynasties / Suí is conventional. Per DILA Buddhist Person Authority A001185.
