Huìzhì 慧智 (active c. 670s), Indian (梵僧) monk resident at the Chánlín sì 禪林寺 in Xījīng 西京 (Chāng’ān), who served as oral translator / interpreter (chuán yì 傳譯) for the direct Chán teaching-exchange between the Kashmīrī monk Buddhapālita (覺愛) and the Chinese monk 明恂 Míngxún at the same monastery in Yífèng 2 (677), preserved as the Xiū chán yào jué 修禪要訣 (KR6q0116). No independent biographical material survives; no DILA authority entry. Distinct from other monks of the name 慧智 in Táng tradition.
